Like all V-Series models, the CTS-V Coupe adds enormous power to its parent model. The CTS-V Coupe is powered by a supercharged 6.2L V-8 that delivers 556 horsepower and is backed by either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic. State-of-the-art performance elements further enhance the powertrain, such as Magnetic Ride Control, Brembo brakes, and Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 performance tires mounted on 19-inch forged aluminum wheels. No Woodbridge NJ Cadillac customer will be able to turn away from these features.
The 2012 CTS-V Coupe quite simply has the most powerful engine Cadillac has ever made. It uses a supercharged V-8 engine and is rated at 556 horsepower (415 kW) and 551 lb.-ft. of torque (747 Nm). The engine features an intercooled Eaton Twin Vortices Series™ (TVS™) supercharger, which employs twin four-lobe rotors that are twisted 160 degrees. Typical superchargers feature three lobes twisted 60 degrees. The fourth lobe and greater helix profile, when combined with unique air inlet and outlet ports, creates smoother, more efficient airflow into the engine. In addition to improved overall efficiency, this supercharger has superior noise and vibration characteristics compared to more ordinary designs.
The CTS-V Coupe has much in common with the CTS-V Sedan, but has an overall height approximately two inches (51 mm) lower and an overall length that is two inches (51 mm) shorter. It shares the instrument panel, console, headlamps, front fenders and grille. However, it is unique in a number of ways. The classic hardtop has no conventional B-pillar. The doors use touch-pad controls instead of handles of the cleanest possible look. The exterior incorporates a number of unique cues that blend function with aesthetics. The dihedral Cadillac grille, for example, is larger to enable more air intake and features a satin finish, while the raised hood encompasses the supercharged engine beneath it. The front and rear fascias, as well as a rear spoiler that houses the center high-mounted stop lamp, are specific to the car, as are its standard 19-inch wheels.
The CTS-V Coupe uses GM’s renowned OnStar system. OnStar ensures that help is always nearby in case of an emergency. It includes 1-year of Directions and Connections plan. Included is the innovative and easy to use Turn-by-Turn Navigation services which provide voice-guided directions (where available). It also has Automatic Crash Notification, Automatic Notification of Air Bag Deployment, Stolen Vehicle Location Assistance, a link to all Emergency Services, Roadside Assistance, Remote Door Unlock, OnStar Vehicle Diagnostics, Hands-Free Calling, AccidentAssist, Remote Horn and Lights, Information and Convenience Services, and Driving Directions. OnStar services require vehicle electrical system including battery, wireless service and GPS satellite signals to be available and operating for features to function properly. OnStar acts as a link to existing emergency service providers. Stolen Vehicle Location Assistance and Remote Door Unlock success varies with conditions.
